This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Private Client Lawyer who is seeking a leading role within a highly ranked Legal 500 practice. The opportuity will be ideal for a lawyer who has a passion for forging meaningful client relationships whilst growing a practice.
Role overview
You’ll be joining a highly regarded Private Client team, where you’ll lead on a variety of wealth and estate matters, including:
- Estate Planning: Reviewing existing estate planning documents, including lifetime trusts and will structures, and advising on their suitability.
- Will Preparation: Drafting a variety of wills, including those designed to absorb qualifying business and agricultural assets.
- Inheritance Tax Expertise: Applying extensive knowledge of inheritance tax, as well as capital gains tax, particularly in relation to individuals and trusts.
- Trust Guidance: Advising on pilot trusts for pension planning and life policies, as well as business trusts supporting cross-option arrangements.
- Powers of Attorney: Preparing and advising on Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and Enduring Powers of Attorney, with experience in LPAs for business owners being advantageous.
- Trust Closures: Managing trust terminations and preparing deeds of variation following key events, such as life tenant deaths or beneficiary milestones.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborating with clients on all aspects of wealth and estate planning.
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members, contributing to regular reviews.
- Proactively contributing to the firm's business plans, including developing new work streams and professional followings.
- Maintaining compliance and staying ahead of legal developments.
- Representing the firm at professional events to enhance your profile and grow networks.
The ideal candidate will bring energy, ambition, and a focus on delivering excellence to the team. Moreover, you’ll have high levels of attention to detail, be confident and proactive leading on client matters and ideally hold a STEP qualification (although not essential).
