Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a varied caseload with a primary focus on property litigation, including mainstream contract disputes when required.
• Handle landlord and tenant matters, including lease renewals under relevant legislation and dilapidations claims.
• Conduct residential possession proceedings, demonstrating a strong grasp of housing law and statutory frameworks.
• Resolve disputes between neighbouring property owners, including boundary issues, nuisance claims, and restrictive covenant enforcement.
• Advise on conflicts arising from development projects and their impact on surrounding parties.
• Provide guidance on long leasehold matters such as lease extensions, enfranchisements, and right to manage arrangements.

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in property litigation.
• Demonstrable expertise in landlord and tenant disputes, both commercial and residential.
• Proven ability to manage disputes involving adjoining owners and development-related conflicts.
• Experience in long leasehold work is advantageous; training can be provided.

A well-established firm in Surrey is seeking a newly qualified solicitor to join its leading private client team.

The Firm

They are a full service firm, recognised in The Legal 500, with multiple offices in the Surrey area and have over 100 staff. They have a range of clients including small and medium sized business in the local area as well as medium and high net worth individuals. They have attracted a number of City trained lawyers who have been impressed by the quality of work and the excellent culture.

The Role

The successful NQ can look forward to working with a talented team who offer expert advice on wills, probate, estate planning and trusts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advice to clients on private client matters, including wills, probate, estate administration, trusts, and powers of attorney
• Manage a caseload under supervision
• Prepare legal documents, such as wills, lasting powers of attorney, and trust deeds
• Assist clients with estate planning, including inheritance tax planning and advising on the creation and management of trusts.
• Support the administration of estates, including obtaining grants of probate or letters of administration, dealing with HMRC for inheritance tax matters, and distributing estate assets.

The Requirements

The firm are flexible and keen to see applications from those who will be completing their training contract in September as well as those who have recently qualified via the CILEX route or SQE.

The key thing is to be able to demonstrate a keen interest in private client work, be able to commute to the Surrey office 3 days a week and have at least a 6 month seat in private client.

The Role

This role offers a balanced caseload of both claimant and respondent work. For employer clients—ranging from household names in tech, retail, and pharma to major financial institutions—you’ll provide strategic counsel on day-to-day HR matters, contracts and policies, reorganisations, and business transfers.
